Crime Alert - Battery at the Lake Shore Campus

Loyola Community,

Campus Safety is writing to inform you about a battery that occurred around 10 p.m. last night. A student was walking near the Main Parking Structure on the Lake Shore Campus when three young individuals on bicycles approached her and began to inappropriately touch her before fleeing.

Anyone who thinks they may have information about this incident should contact Campus Safety at 773.508.SAFE or the Chicago Police Department via 9-1-1 or 312.744.8263.

Please also remember investigative follow-up will be dependent on the amount of detail a person can recall. It is important to remember as many identifying characteristics about the offender(s) as possible. This can include physical characteristics of the person, their clothing, any weapons used, direction of flight, etc.

UPDATE (8/31/2015): Several students have come forward after reading the crime alert and have reported similar experiences around the same time as the initial complaint. It is important to immediately report all crimes to Campus Safety (773.508.2462) or the Chicago Police Department (9-1-1) as soon as possible.
