Students Pledge Themselves to Nursing at Dedication to the Profession Ceremony
On Saturday, October 12, Niehoff celebrated its Class of 2021 at its Dedication to the Profession ceremony in the Madonna della Strada Chapel. The ceremony marks the transition as juniors begin their clinical rotations.
The tradition includes a symbolic blessing of the hands and a pledge of dedication to the profession as students take the Nightingale Oath.
Niehoff’s new Dean Lorna Finnegan, PhD, RN, FAAN, along with Class President William Senak welcomed students, family and friends to this year’s ceremony.
Following the invocation by Class Secretary Emily Collick, keynote speaker Wali Khan, RN, BSN, shared his incredible story of resilience and faith.
Class of 2021 members Maeve Smith, Kateri Conklin, and Hanna Barakt also spoke at Saturday’s ceremony, which concluded with a reception for students, families, guests, alumni, faculty, and staff. View photos from the event.
