Loyola University Chicago has a long standing tradition that a senior give a reflection following communion at the Baccalaureate Mass. The department of Campus Ministry is inviting graduating seniors to apply to give the reflection. To apply, students should submit a resume that highlights their campus ministry activities and a 750 word essay that addresses how their Loyola education has helped them to grow in their faith tradition. Applications may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 25.
Abraham’s Tent is a collaboration between all student groups within Campus Ministry, which offers the campus community a tent under which to gather in peace, engage in interfaith dialogue and perform acts of service. The tent was inspired by an important figure in several world religions: Abraham, because he reminds us of our commonalities and shared goals as peoples of faith. Loyola prides itself on being “a diverse community seeking God in all things…working to expand knowledge in the service of humanity through learning, justice, and faith.” Abraham’s Tent helps work towards that by promoting the sharing of thought and culture, cultivating unique dialogue and creating friendships- all while performing acts of service.
