Urgent Care During Business Hours
If you need urgent care for a non life-threatening issue when the Wellness Center is open, please call Dial-A-Nurse at 773.508.8883. For an urgent, non-life threatening mental health need during business hours, call 773-508-2530 and hit Option 3 and leave a message. A mental health provider will call you back within 30 minutes.
Urgent Care After Hours
If you need urgent care for a non life-threatening issue at a time when the Wellness Center is closed, consider utilizing one of the phone or clinic resources below. This is not a comprehensive list. These clinics are not affiliated with Loyola University Chicago, nor do we recommend any particular clinic. In order to be seen at these clinics, you must have your medical insurance card with you.

If you have a non-emergency medical concern after hours, most insurance providers have an after hours nurse call line. Please visit your insurer’s website to find the correct nurse line number. If you don’t have access to a nurse line, please visit our urgent care referral sites below. If you have United Healthcare (Loyola’s student insurance), you are eligible to use Healthiest You, an after hours service. To call the service, dial #480-779-4360, and there is also an app available for download on their website.

If you are experiencing mental or emotional distress beyond your ability to manage safely right now: The Wellness Center has a service available for students who are in crisis and need immediate assistance to speak to counselors and to receive crisis consultation, information on emergency resources, or even be directed to the Emergency Department, if appropriate. This service is available by calling 773-508-2530, Option 3 after hours, which includes weekends and holidays. You can also call 312.926.8100 for the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Crisis Line or call 988 for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. You may also text the Crisis Text Line at 741741 to communicate with a trained crisis counselor. |
