Shane McCarthy

As Senior Vice President of Supply Chain for Lawson Products Inc., Shane McCarthy is responsible for all strategy and execution related to the sourcing, inventory management, real estate, packaging, distribution and logistics functions.  Since joining the company in April 2008, he has been responsible for implementing a network optimization strategy, which included the installation of a new Warehouse Management System (SAP WM), as well as the construction of a state-of-the-art, 300,000 square-foot distribution center. In addition, he has developed scorecards and metrics to maintain ISO compliance and drive productivity as well as improve employee engagement.

Prior to joining Lawson Products, Shane worked for eight years at Cardinal Health, a leading healthcare distributor.  At Cardinal Health he worked in a variety of supply chain roles that developed his expertise in inventory management, transportation and warehouse management.  Those roles included VP Warehouse Distribution, VP Operations, Operations Manager, and Regional Inventory Manager.  Previous to Cardinal Health Shane worked for PocketCard Inc., an internet start-up, in the card payment services industry from 1999-2001; and prior to that as Financial and Cost Accounting Manager at, Superior Graphite Co., a Chicago-based manufacturer.

Shane holds a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.  Shane is also a member of the Loyola University Supply and Value Chain Center.  Shane also coaches middle school cross country and track where he instills in students the power of goal setting along with hard work and focus to achieve those goals.
