Amanda von Almen
Head of Sustainable Built Environment, Salesforce
As Head of Sustainable Built Environment for Salesforce, Amanda von Almen has positioned the company as a leader in sustainable real estate, procurement, and operations. She drives sustainability strategy for Salesforce’s global real estate portfolio and supply chain, with a focus on decarbonization, health, and equity. Amanda works with the Salesforce Real Estate and Workplace Services and Global Procurement and Sourcing teams to leverage the company’s reputation and purchasing power to drive climate action in the built environment and beyond.
Under her leadership, Salesforce has committed to pursuing LEED Platinum and ILFI Zero Carbon certification (by 2030) for all new major offices. Salesforce is also requiring 60% of its supply chain to set Science Based Targets for carbon reduction by 2024, which Amanda is leading the strategy for implementation.
Amanda frequently speaks at local and global events, presenting on decarbonization, company climate action planning, Science Based Targets, supply chain, and healthy materials. Her select thought leadership engagements include sessions at Greenbuild, Living Future, and VERGE conferences, as well as co-authoring Healthier Materials in the Workplace: An Introductory Guide.
Amanda serves on USGBC NorCal’s Market Leadership Advisory Board (MLAB), Building Transparency’s board, the LEED Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for Water Efficiency, and mindful MATERIALS’ board, among others. She also served on the City of San Francisco Mayor’s Task Force for Building Decarbonization, introducing a plan to electrify the city’s new building stock.
