Paul Garanzini
Paul Garanzini, Supply Chain Manager at GC America.
What does your company do and what is your role there?
I am currently the Supply Chain Manager at GC America. GC America is a global company that was founded in Japan over 95 years ago. We manufacture many of the products that you find at your dentist's office. In my role, I manage the supply chain team responsible for production planning and the procurement of materials for our operations in North America.
What are your career goals?
I am hoping to continue to grow in responsibility in a way where I can continue to make a positive impact on my organization and those around me.
What made you choose Loyola/Quinlan for pursuing graduate education in supply chain management?
Loyola's supply chain program offers a unique opportunity as compared to other programs. Having the academic aspect of the University combined with The Supply and Value Chain Center's connections to businesses in the area really puts students in a great position to learn a lot.
What stands out to you regarding your education at Loyola/Quinlan?
Most of all I really enjoyed my time at Loyola and made a lot of great connections with students and professors. I also really enjoyed taking the lessons I learned and implementing some of those concepts at my company.
What would you recommend to someone who is looking to start and/or grow their career in supply chain management?
I would say look for the problems facing a current or potential employer. Working to solve those critical issues that are holding an organization back is a great way to add value to the organization and help start a career.
