Parent and Family Advisory Council
The Parent and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) meets with the Vice President for Student Development and other university staff to share their experiences as family members of current LUC students. An emphasis is placed on learning about their experiences supporting their students’ academic pursuits, engagement in co-curricular experiences, and wellbeing. Members give feedback on new university initiatives, as well as existing departments, programs, and communication channels. The inaugural PFAC started meeting in the fall semester of 2022.
The PFAC will meet four times a year. Most meetings will take place virtually, but the final meeting will be in-person with a virtual option for those who are unable to attend in-person. The final meeting for the cohort will take place on the Sunday morning of Family Weekend in September. PFAC members will be asked to commit for a year, with the option of applying to serve for a second term. In addition to participating in four meetings per year, each member will be invited to participate in projects or activities such as those related to communication, assisting with university events, and/or supporting university initiatives.
Directly following Family Weekend each year, we will share information about the application process for members of the PFAC for the current academic year. Information will be posted on this website and in the Rambler Families email newsletter. Membership is not restricted to family members of undergraduate students, or to parents of current students (other family members are welcome to apply).
