Prerequisite: Fourth year standing and completion of Surgery Clerkship.
Special Note:  
Description: Students electing the Burn Unit rotation will be involved with all aspects of burn patient care, to include the Emergency Department, Burn Unit, operating room and outpatient department. Basic principles of the body's response to thermal injury and burn patient care, to include fluid and electrolyte management, nutritional support, wound management, and infection control are stressed. The student is expected to actively participate in the care and management of Burn Unit patients.
Method of Evaluation: Review of student's clinical performance (daily rounds, chart work, and technical proficiency) and oral presentation at burn teaching conference.
