Description: |
The Educational Leadership in Academic Medicine Elective (“Leadership Elective”) at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) is designed to provide students with a personalized experience to develop leadership skills through education, reflection and exposure to leadership in medicine. Through this course, students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own leadership journey, develop interpersonal and communication skills, and collaborate with peers, while participating in activities to build their leadership story and prepare for real world experiences as a leader in medicine. The goal of this course is that students will demonstrate a progressive acquisition of leadership skills, while engaging in both personal and professional development. 1. Analyze and synthesize knowledge of leadership theories for use as a foundation for role enactment as a leader in healthcare.

Method of Evaluation: |
The course will be graded pass/fail only. An 80% total or minimum of 500 points is required to Pass the elective. The course director will determine the final grade. |
