Cory D. Mitchell, OFS (candidate), D.Bioethics, MA, is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics and Healthcare Leadership. He is also the System Director of Ethics, PeaceHealth, and a candidate in the Secular Franciscan Order. Prior to becoming a Mission Leader, he served in the military, as a civil servant, a homeless service provider, and a Research Intern at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Cory is the recipient of the 2016-17 Loyola University Chicago President’s Medallion for Leadership, Scholarship, and Service, as well as a Bronze Star and three Navy Achievement Medals. His interest in Catholic social bioethics led to publications at the intersection of social epidemiology, Catholic Social Teaching, and bioethics.
