Holly A. Bante, PhD, MPH, MS serves as the Assistant Vice President for the Office for Ethics and Research Security within the Office of Research at the University of Cincinnati. She’s the university’s Conflict of Interest Officer and oversees financial/nonfinancial conflicts of interest as they relate to sponsored research and research security. Dr. Bante works with the University Conflict of Interest Committee, Sponsored Research Services, the Office of Innovation, Office of General Counsel, and the Human Research Protection Program to ensure responsible and ethical partnerships between faculty and industry, and compliance with applicable conflict of interest regulatory requirements. She serves on the steering committee for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Forum on Conflicts of Interest and often presents at their annual conference and at the Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) conference. Dr. Bante is an adjunct assistant professor in UC’s College of Medicine where she teaches responsible conduct of research (RCR) to graduate students. She also teaches biomedical ethics to senior undergraduate students in UC’s College of Medicine Medical Sciences program.
