What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola? I love that I get the freedom to be creative and innovative. Every day looks different and there’s always an opportunity to develop a new skill.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee? I, along with several students, founded a Sponsored Student Organization called CHANGE. CHANGE seeks to create critical and inclusive spaces to challenge norms, further prevention, and empower survivors of gender-based violence. While the group itself has done powerful work for the campus, I am most proud of the growth I have been privileged to witness among the members of the group.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you? I appreciate Loyola’s commitment to diverse faith traditions and “seeing God in all things.” Loyola has been accepting of my Jewish identity and I value a community that seeks to find beauty, joy, and humanity in unlikely spaces.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day? While my passion for the work that I do motivates me to continually improve, I look up to my parents who were Professors at Ohio State University. Witnessing the impact they had on students demonstrated to me the power of creating a legacy that will outlive one’s time in one job, one university. This motivates me to similarly connect with students.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride. I love swag! I have multiple t-shirts and the scarf. I’m sad to say our ex-therapy dog, Santos, got ahold of my stuffed LU Wolf and now he’s missing an eye!
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you. Some colleagues the other day were shocked when I mentioned that I used to volunteer with chimpanzees in high school. There was a facility in Ohio that was teaching chimps to spell and count and there were two baby chimps that I had the pleasure of babysitting.
