Years at Loyola: Almost 2! And 2 as a Graduate Assistant before that
What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
I love working with our amazing students as they transition to college work to make Loyola their home in their first two years. These students are inspirational, driven, and so thoughtful. I also absolutely love working with my colleagues in First and Second Year Advising. We have built a great community at work which, I think, allows us to serve students very well.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
Because I hope that my life here will be long, I am going to say that my most memorable achievement is yet to come! What I am the proudest of are some of the very productive relationships that I have been able to build with students as they work through challenging academic concerns.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
In my advising relationships I really strive to care for the whole person. This might mean that my appointments are long or our conversations go off of academics for a bit, but I pride myself in being able to know students well in order to help them to live out the mission to serve humanity while at Loyola and afterward. I am so happy to work at an institution that prioritizes social justice and works to treat students well.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
I see how hard our students are working and want to work just as hard to help them to succeed.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride.
I came to Loyola for graduate school and have not left yet!
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
I love to cook but am probably the worst baker you will ever know.
