What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
My favorite thing about working at Loyola is the opportunity to use my skills to help students, faculty, and staff members in any way I can. The job presents many different challenges on a daily basis, and not always in the electrical field. The help and support that I receive from my colleagues in the maintenance department make it possible for me to do my job to the best of my ability.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
My most memorable achievement (besides being chosen for this award) is when the transformer that supplied power to the Life Sciences building failed, and I worked in conjunction with contractors, engineers, and maintenance personnel to get the transformer replaced and the power restored.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
Loyola’s mission is my golden rule in life, to do unto others as you would want done unto you. To always be a person for others, and never put your needs before the needs of others.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
What motivates me to succeed is to set a good example for my children, the students, and my co-workers with hard work and dedication, and my desire to always want to achieve, learn, and help more.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride.
I think the smile on my face speaks volumes of my pride when I’m speaking of Loyola and the Ramblers.
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
People would be surprised to know that I speak fluent Sicilian, a little Polish, and a little Spanish. Way back in the '90s, I took a month off of work and traveled most of the country of Italy by train, stopping along the way to visit with family in various cities.
