What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
I've enjoyed watching Lake Shore Campus evolve over time. I also love our location on Lake Michigan. Coming into work in the morning, I get a great view of the lake through the windows of the Information Commons. It never looks the same twice.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
I'm most proud of my work with the Libraries' Staff Development Committee. Our committee has organized and hosted programs for library staff on a variety of topics, ranging from retirement planning to self-defense training and CPR certification.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
Loyola's Mission Statement says that, as a community, part of our mission is to expand knowledge through learning. I try to approach every day as a learning experience.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
The Technical Services Division of the Libraries is very much a behind-the-scenes operation, so we don't always see how the work we do benefits our patrons. I am motivated on a day-to-day basis by the knowledge that the work I am doing is helping to provide learning resources to an entire community.
Tell us how you show your Rambler Pride.
I'd like to think that my pride shows in the work that I do.
Tell us something that most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
I enjoy creative writing, and have been involved with a Milwaukee-based writers' group for almost twenty years.
