Description
Students’ internship education is the signature pedagogy of the social work profession. This course is the first of two seminars that serve to “bookend” students’ internship experience. The focus of this course is upon experiences and progress of the student in the first semester of internship and the relationship of the internship experience to specific foundation class content. The emphasis is on issues that are likely to emerge at the start of the internship experience including professional conduct and comportment, use of supervision, writing for field, organizational context and initial work with client systems. This course will meet 5 times throughout the semester.
