Crossing Borders: A Class's Dive into Migration
On Thursday, March 14, Dr. Elizabeth Lozano's Intercultural Communication class conducted an interview with Gilberto Villaseñor, a Latino peace activist and U.N international observer. The theme of the interview was migration and cultural adaptation. The questions focused on various topics, such as assimilation, marginalization, cultural shock, nativism, pluralism, cultural identity, and multiculturalism. Gilberto offered invaluable insight into these topics, coming from his personal experiences and scholarly knowledge.
Students Cullen Rooney, Ashley Parks, and Ellen Powell showcased their excellent communication skills as interviewers and the class got an opportunity to practice intercultural communication on site.
