Claire Fey
A New Path Forward
Initially, Claire pursued a career in the museum and gallery industry due to her passion for contemporary art; however, the highly competitive nature of the field and the limited opportunities for advancement forced her to reconsider her career path. Faced with these challenges, Claire decided to switch gears and start from scratch in a completely different industry.
Her transition led her to Keller Postman LLC where she began her career as a data entry contractor. Claire delved into the legal materials, gaining a deeper understanding of the firm's client base and the cases they handled. In an effort to enhance her career, she seized an opportunity to return to school and enrolled in SCPS's Paralegal program.
As Claire advanced in the Paralegal program, she noticed remarkable changes in her professional life as well. Her enhanced legal knowledge and skills empowered her to transition from a data entry contractor to a legal operations manager.
Claire became capable of reading and understanding employment contracts, leases, and legal documents which gave her a broader perspective on the significance of her paralegal education.
As for future professional degree students considering going back to school, Claire says to not wait.
"It's not too late to start to better yourself and improve yourself. That should be something that you're trying to do all the time."
