Volunteer Information
Volunteers are welcome and needed during each season. Whether it's raising planting grain, restoring wetlands, or harvesting squash, there are many opportunities for volunteering at the Retreat & Ecology Campus.
Loyola Farm
Volunteer opportunities on the Loyola Farm are offered to community members and Loyola faculty, staff, students, and alumni periodically throughout each season on a need-based schedule: Spring (planting), Summer (harvesting and processing), Fall (harvesting and bed amendments) and Winter.
If you would like to join our volunteer e-mail list or are interested in learning more, please contact lurec@luc.edu.
Wetland Restoration Projects
Restoration work days are designated for the second Saturday of each month. Upcoming restoration projects for this winter include: removing brush and trees from the oak and hickory woodlands, improving drainage for the northern and southern parts of the wetland, and managing native plant life.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information about restoration activities, please contact Dr. Roberta Lammers-Campbell at rlammer@luc.edu.
