Today was a full free day for us and I truly utilized it. I started my day off visiting one of Loyola’s alumni’s (Sara Silvestri) pop up event. The event included Number 7’s new fragrance that is coming out and they decided to collab with Maman coffee shop. I was one of the first 100 people who ordered and received the event specific drink and a product sample from Soap & Glory. The coffee was so good and I got a pistachio chocolate croissant.

After that early event I decided to visit the Brooklyn Bridge and walk near the water to see the amazing views. My next stop was Williamsburg, Brooklyn to find a few thrift stores, local stores, and stationary stores. I thrifted a few things and got some stuff to remember NYC. I stayed in the area for a few hours and then took the train to Koreatown where I got to try Korean cheese corn dogs and a few bakery goods.

The day was only starting as a few of us went to bike around Central Park until the sun went down. This was one of my favorite moments as I truly got to see the beauty of the city. There were so many people there as it was a sunny day. Families at the playgrounds, friends walking together, and so much more. Not too long after a few of us were walking to get ice cream and a huge accomplishment was getting complimented by New Yorkers themselves on our outfits. We walked with smiles on our face to grab ice cream, visit the Rockefeller Center, and the Grand Central Terminal.

My night concluded with packing and reminiscing of my time in New York. It has been one of my favorite moments of my life and I made great friends along the way. I made connections with incredible people and can continue them back in Chicago. It’s a bittersweet feeling leaving as I don’t want this moment to end. I got to explore this city while improving on my networking and gaining genuine advice. This is a moment I will always cherish.
