Today we spent the day at the United Nations! This was the first time visiting for many of us, so it was a great learning experience for us all. With there being so much to see, we got the opportunity to be taken on a guided tour where every gift, room and exhibit was explained to us.

We were able to learn the basics of what type of events happened in each room, and how long officials worked on the board. One fun fact that I found particularly interesting is that the UN is not American soil; it’s considered international territory and therefore uses its own security, fire department and post office!

After our tour and many pictures, we took advantage of the gift shop full of cultural items from all around the world. Overall visiting the United Nations was a great opportunity for us to learn more about global events, the importance of an organization such as this and be able to appreciate the history that took place and is taking place everyday.
