New York City: Hidden Treasures

Embarking on the final stretch of our Ramble through New York, a sense of closure intertwines with the anticipation in the air. Despite the end of the trip coming around the corner, there's still a ton of time to explore some corners of the city and seize every opportunity.
I started off the day with getting a bacon egg and cheese and feeling like local when walking down to the nearest deli shop. Heading to the United Nations, I wasn’t sure what to expect. From the tour to every intentional detail about the building, the United Nations site visit had all my Rambler peers engaged, excited, and intrigued. My favorite part about the site visit was how every detail on the building had a purpose. The unfinished ceiling representing the unfinished work really made me think. Additionally, the story about how the random company in Brazil teamed up with the United Nations to make bricks made from polluted plastic in order to build schools for children is so inspiring and honestly chill-inducing.
After the United Nations visit, a few friends and I embarked on an adventure to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. After a few stops to take photos, we walked the Brooklyn Bridge and entered another world of New York: Brooklyn. Visiting DUMBO and engaging in a few touristy activities, the group had run into a sign- literally. We noticed that at the time, there were art gallery shows all around the area. We wove in and out of the shows, viewing a variety of art to open up our perspectives. We also stumbled upon a hidden treasure of an amazing view of the two bridges. Sometimes you never know what your night will look like, and it might be for the best!
Returning back to Dave’s Hot Chicken was what the Ramblers needed after a long day of adventures. We continued to discuss our days, our favorite parts of the trip, and learned more about each other. I couldn’t pick a favorite but as I write this, I realize that my favorite part was the late nights with my fellow Quinlan peers. Seems a bit cliche, but the differences in our group really brought us together and laughter filled the air everywhere we went
The final moments of the Ramble to New York City have been exciting and thrilling. Having the freedom to enjoy the big city was the ultimate experience.
