Students who are majoring in a field other than psychology or criminal justice and criminology might find this interdisciplinary minor particularly beneficial in placing their professional practice or graduate study in a deeper and broader context. The Psychology of Crime and Justice Minor provides an opportunity for deeper understanding and knowledge of the motives and decisions of justice-involved persons as well as crucial knowledge about criminal justice systems.
Affiliated fields that intersect with the psychology of criminal justice include: Forensic Science, Human Services, Journalism, Nursing, Social Work, Sociology, Urban Affairs, and Women's Studies and Gender Studies. Students in other majors might find the constellation of classes relevant to their intellectual and professional growth.
