Online Teaching Fundamentals
Online Teaching Fundamentals prepares Loyola instructors to create and deliver engaging, high-quality online courses using the Loyola suite of technologies. It is both self-paced and asynchronous so it can be completed flexibly on instructors’ schedules. Instructors who complete the course will leave with instructional content they may use in future courses and will earn an Online Teaching Fundamentals digital badge through the Credly platform. Guided by research-informed methodologies, participants will learn to:
- Identify the processes and strategies that define high-quality online learning experiences
- Use the backward design process to create engaging, active, and aligned online courses
- Create robust online course environments using appropriate technologies
- Design inclusive and accessible online learning environments
- Prepare an online learning environment characterized by presence, community, and communication
Please note: If you have been notified that you are required to take this course due to the Online Teaching Readiness Requirement, but you already have significant experience teaching online, visit the Competency Equivalent page for an alternative option.
