Chicago Symposium Series, Excellence in Teaching Mathematics and Science
Please consider registering for the 2024 Chicago Symposium Series, Excellence in Teaching Mathematics and Science: Research and Practice, hosted at Loyola on Friday, April 12, 10am-5pm, check-in starting at 9:30am in McCormick Lounge. The Chicago Symposium Series is a twice-a-year symposium bringing together higher education faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduates who are interested in a discussion of issues and innovations in STEM education.
The April 12 symposium will include:
- Plenary by Pamela E. Harris, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee -- Finding and Creating Welcoming Mathematical Spaces
- Plenary by Clausell Mathis, Michigan State University -- Culture-Based Approaches to Physics Instruction
- Breakout sessions focusing on relevant STEM education topics
- Panel discussion with plenary speakers
- Catered lunch
