Loyola Law School Democrats
Mission:
The Law School Democrats is a political organization for liberal Loyola law students interested in networking, learning about electoral politics, and getting connected to relevant job opportunities. In the 2022 midterm elections, the Loyola Law Dems helped to reelect Representatives Sean Casten, Bill Foster, and Lauren Underwood to the US House of Representatives. We helped pass the Workers Rights Amendment to the Illinois Constitution. We also helped expand the left-leaning majority on the Illinois Supreme Court. In 2023, the Law School Democrats held voter registration events and some of our members campaigned for Eileen O'Neill Burke to win the democratic primary for the Cook County States Attorney's office.
We will continue to organize and conduct voter outreach efforts commonly known as "Getting Out The Vote," or GOTV, in the run up to the General Election in November 2024. Our organization is committed to helping ensure the election of Vice President Kamala Harris for President. The Loyola Law Dems are also passionate about supporting the effort to retake Democratic control of the House of Representatives in 2024.
