About

Christine Weil has been a restorative justice practitioner since 2005. Currently, she facilitates victim offender dialogue through the Federal Defender’s Office and consults on restorative justice issues nationwide.  Christine led Chicago Public Schools in creating the largest restorative justice program in the country. She also created a re-entry program in which students released from juvenile detention would return to school through a restorative process. Most recently, Christine served as Associate Director at a Restorative Justice Hub located in Back of the Yards, one of the most violent neighborhoods in Chicago. There, she managed the CP4P program in which victims and perpetrators of gun violence were consulted by formerly incarcerated individuals, wishing to make positive changes in their community.

Christine has trained over 100 Chicago-area schools and the entire school district of Syracuse, New York and has worked to remove zero tolerance from discipline codes across the nation. Christine has taught at Northwestern Law, Governor State University, and North Park University. While accepting public defender appointments in Wisconsin, she volunteered as a Community Conferencing Facilitator through the District Attorney's office in Milwaukee County.

Christine graduated from Marquette Law in 2005 and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 2001 with a BA in Communication and History.
