About
Emily Vaughan has been the Assistant Director of Loyola University Community Law Center since 2015. In the Spring of 2018, she became the Director of the new Veterans Practicum which is a cross-disciplinary effort in partnership with the School of Social Work designed to better address veterans' social and legal needs. Under her supervision, senior law students use a Supreme Court Rule 711 license to represent veterans and their families in a myriad of civil legal matters. The Practicum also has a weekly classroom component to provide students with a theoretical overview of the lawyering skills that will be required of them in their casework.
Ms. Vaughan’s legal career was largely inspired by her Northwestern Public Interest Fellowship where she worked as an advocate for low-income community members with The Community Builders, Inc. After graduating from law school, Ms. Vaughan was named as a member of inaugural class of Illinois Bar Foundation Public Interest Fellows in her placement at the Community Law Center.
