Maria Protic

About

Maria teaches International Humanitarian Law as an adjunct professor at Loyola. Her undergraduate degree, from Trinity University, is in Economics and Political Science, with a focus on international law and politics. During her time at Trinity, Maria conducted research alongside Dr. Rosa Aloisi in Bosnia. While in Bosnia, Maria and Dr. Aloisi focused on the reconciliation efforts in a post-war era in Bosnia. Once back in the U.S., Maria and Dr. Aloisi presented their findings at the American Political Science Association Conference in Chicago, IL, in 2017. Maria also participated in the International Criminal Justice Program, where she was able to travel to The Hague, Netherlands, to learn and experience international law first-hand at the International Criminal Court and International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.

While at Loyola, Maria earned her Juris Doctor degree, with a certificate in International Law. She was on the International Law Review, and was captain of the Clara Barton International Humanitarian Law Competition Advocacy team. Maria received the award of Best Advocate in the competition.
