About

Father Overbeck is the chaplain at the School of Law. He has also been the University Liturgist at Loyola since 1983; he currently teaches both the theory and the art of liturgy in the university's Theology and University Ministry Departments. Since 1982, he has functioned as a liturgical consultant for the building and renovation of places for Christian worship, and for ten years he was Loyola's liaison with the Office for Divine Worship of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Since the inception of Campus Ministry as a profession (1970), he has been a member of university ministry teams at Loyola Chicago, Santa Clara, University of California Berkeley and Xavier. He has also offered courses, workshops, and lectures in liturgical theology to university, high school, religious, hospital, and parish groups.
