About
Prior to joining the Loyola faculty, Professor Emeritus Michael headed the Appellate Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Illinois where he represented the state in its litigation in the U.S. Supreme Court and the Illinois courts of review. He also has served as general counsel for Loyola University and its hospital, and as a law clerk to former Illinois Supreme Court Justice Daniel Ward. He has been vice-chairperson of the Character and Fitness Committee of Illinois Bar for the First Judicial District (Cook County). He has been active in continuing legal education for judges and for attorneys, having been on the faculty of the National Judicial College, having taught at Illinois Judicial Conference Seminars consecutively for over twenty years, and having appeared regularly at the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and bar association seminars.
