About
Dean Maddali provides leadership and guidance to support all JD students at the School of Law. She and other members of the Student Affairs team serve as a resource to students as they navigate their law school experience.
Prior to coming to Loyola, Dean Maddali held various roles at Northern Illinois University College of Law, including Associate Professor of Law, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, and Director of Clinics. She taught courses in Immigration and Constitutional Law and laid the foundation for a Medical-Legal Partnership clinic. Upon graduating from law school, she received an Equal Justice Works Fellowship and later worked as a clinical professor at the Children and Family Justice Center of Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law where she represented women and children seeking asylum and other forms of immigration relief. Additionally, she created a Poverty Law clinic at DePaul College of Law and litigated cases in the areas of immigration, education, and employment discrimination for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF). She also served on the Board of Directors for the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights.
In 2021, Dean Maddali obtained a Master of Divinity degree. Through this experience, she developed skills in community-based leadership and spiritual care and counseling.
