About
Insa Blanke is the Executive Director of Loyola Chicago’s International LL.M. Programs. She joined the law school in March 2012 to launch the LLM Programs for International Lawyers at Loyola’s downtown campus in Chicago. Under her direction, the program has become an integral component of the law school. In only five years, outstanding students from over 35 countries joined Loyola to earn a master’s degree in US or International Law. Ms. Blanke teaches, and oversees all aspects of the LLM Program from recruiting, curriculum development, and student services to creating externship opportunities, providing academic and career counseling, and establishing partnerships with foreign law schools worldwide. She also serves as the faculty adviser of Loyola’s Foreign Lawyers Society, a student association run by international LLM students. Ms. Blanke, who passed the legal licensing exams in Germany in 1995, has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 2001. After five years of litigating for the City of Chicago Law Department, she gained valuable experience in various aspects of legal education administration at the University of Chicago Law School and Chicago-Kent. Prior to attending law school, she worked as an international legal consultant at Baker McKenzie in Chicago.
