Amanda Bacoyanis

About

Amanda is currently an Illinois Assistant Attorney General (AAG) working in the General Law Bureau. In that capacity, she is a federal litigator representing government entities and officials in federal civil rights lawsuits brought under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Before becoming an AAG, she was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Anna H. Demacopoulos in the General Chancery Division of the Cook County Circuit Court.

Amanda has an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law with a focus on trademarks and copyright law, and served as Executive Articles Editor for the Review of Intellectual Property Law while matriculating law school. She graduated from The John Marshall Law School (now UIC School of Law) in 2014 and has a B.A. from Purdue University (West Lafayette, Campus).
