Faculty and Administration Profiles
About
I have been an insurance coverage lawyer for 35 years. I began my career at Lord Bissell & Brook (n/k/a Locke Lord) in 1987 as coverage and litigation counsel for Underwriters at Lloyd's London. In 1990, I joined Tressler LLP where I worked as national litigation counsel for several domestic insurers. At both Lord Bissell and Tressler, I handled insurance matters from coverage opinion through litigation and appeal. I have extensive experience handling appeals before Illinois appellate courts and the Seventh Circuit. From 1997 to 2008, I was also a Paralegal Instructor and Clinical Professor of Law at Loyola University-Chicago School of Law, teaching courses in legal writing, legal research, and appellate advocacy.
In 2010, I left Tressler to accept a litigation counsel position with Colliau, Carluccio, CNA's in-house coverage litigation firm. In 2012, I was promoted to the position of Personal and Advertising Injury Practice Leader. In December, 2016, I transitioned to an in-house commercial counsel (CCG) position at CNA. In that role I support CNA's General Liability unit, providing legal advice to CNA Claims and Underwriting and remain the CCG's Personal and Advertising Injury Practice Leader.
I am also - once again - a Clinical Professor of Law at Loyola University Chicago's School of Law, teaching Legal Writing III/Appellate Advocacy. I also serve on the Board of The Hope Chest, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit resale shop located in Lagrange, IL, which donates 100% of its net earnings to Pillar Community Health's Constance Morris House, a domestic violence and battered women’s shelter in West Suburban Chicago.
