About
Over the course of his 30-year career, Pete Anderson has played a variety of roles in the enforcement and compliance arena, which continued to help him in his current consulting and teaching roles. After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law, Pete clerked for a federal judge. Then he became federal prosecutor in the Environmental Crimes Section of the US. Department of Justice, and the United States Attorney’s Office in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Next, Pete spent two decades building a unique law practice involving both reactive defense, and proactive compliance counseling and to help companies design and implement effective corporate compliance programs. During that period, Pete also had the privilege of serving as a key environmental compliance leader on the Volkswagen Diesel Court Appointed Monitoring team.
In the most recent phase of his career, Pete served as the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, and sat on the Executive Leadership Team for one of the largest cruise lines in the world, which employed over 150.000 employees from all over the globe.
Pete holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University (summa cum laude) and a law degree from the University of Virginia. He regularly speaks, writes and teaches on a variety of topics, including corporate compliance and ethics, corporate governance, environmental crimes, and environmental law. After retiring from the practice of law, in addition to consulting and adjunct teaching, Pete is also currently pursuing a Masters in Divinity at Duke University.
