Curriculum
Loyola’s IP program teaches students the legal context behind many headline news stories. Loyola’s flexible and student-centered program assists students intending to launch a career in IP or those who recognize the importance of IP in broader fields of commercial litigation as well as business laws.
We offer fundamental IP courses as well as an assortment of complementary courses. This curriculum blend prepares students for their first job and their long-term career success.
Loyola’s courses use active and experiential methods known to promote optimal learning. Students can draft blogs or write policy papers as a first year law student in Global Access to Medicine, or directly simulate real-life lawyering by providing an oral trademark report or drafting a patent application in upper-level classes, such as Trademark Law Seminar or Patent Prosecution. In addition, students can obtain excellent learning experiences by working on a current case in an externship with a judge or at a firm, company, or non-profit organization.
Loyola’s intentionally certificate-free program provides you with the flexibility to take classes that best optimize your individual career path, while also providing faculty for individual guidance.
