The minor enables students to appreciate the complexities of the Middle Eastern and Islamic civilizations, understand the regional specificities while considering the past and present global networks linking various Islamic communities to the rest of the world. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students take courses on history, literature, art, language, philosophy, politics, and religion to gain knowledge about the Middle East and contemporary Islamic world.
