Andrea A. Raila: MUND 1983 Social Economics

Her favorite memory at Mundelein was traveling with Sr. Joan Frances Crowley, BVM,to Moscow & St Petersburg. She founded Andrea A. Raila & Associates, a public policy and tax consulting firm, recipient of the BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. Raila & Assocs merged into the law firm of Raila & Associates PC owned by her sister Paula Raila, JD, where she is the Senior Tax Analyst. The law firm’s internship program offers paid positions to Gannon Scholars in the Gannon Center for Women in Leadership Program.

Andrea serves as interim Chair to the Cook County Commission on Women’s Issues, and as a member on the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce’s Tax Committee.

Andrea values public civil service serving as a Cook County Board of Review Tax Deputy under former Governor Pat Quinn (then Tax Commissioner) and in the Chicago Comptroller Department's first Taxpayer Advocate Office established by Mayor Washington. She was a candidate for Cook County Assessor’s Office in 2010 and 2018.

Andrea has hosted numerous international exchange students, is an advocate for Restorative Justice and served on the executive board for the Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers (CLAIM) playing a pivotal role in their merger into the Cabrini Green Legal Aid (CGLA).
