Camacho, Ricardo
Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Ricardo Camacho is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School Psychology program at Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Camacho is a licensed bilingual school psychologist, a nationally certified school psychologist (NCSP), and earned his doctorate in School Psychology at Loyola. Born and raised in Chicago to two proud Mexican immigrants, Dr. Camacho was a first-generation student with his educational and psychology background from DePaul (B.A) and Loyola (M.Ed, Ed.S, Ed.D). Dr. Camacho’s research interests consist of bridging community, culturally responsive approaches, and mental health awareness to support others, students, families, and communities. This is currently seen through Dr. Camacho founding the nonprofit organization named "Salud" which focuses on creating culturally responsive approaches to normalize mental health conversations for BIPOC and Latinx communities across Chicago. Dr. Camacho is excited to begin teaching at Loyola and help lead the next generation of professionals especially by supporting the Puentes Fellows and Loyola-Cicero Community School Mental Health Partnership through his role as Program Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator.
