Artist-in-Residence Program

The Artist-in-Residence program in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Loyola University Chicago offers our students the unique opportunity to engage with professional and accomplished local and national artists currently working in the field. Diverse artists in the fields of Dance, Fine Arts, Music, and Theatre are invited to be in residence for a semester or academic year to pursue their artistry within the vibrant creative community in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts.

Student engagement with Artists-in-Residence happens in the context of specialized courses they teach while in residence. Students also participate in the development and public presentation of applied arts research conducted by the Artists-in-Residence. This could take the form of a dance performance, an exhibition, a recital or concert, or the development of a new play.
