If you’ve recently experienced a sexual assault, accessing medical treatment is important if you wish to treat injuries, test for pregnancy or HIV/STIs, and/or preserve physical evidence. Seeking care as soon as possible after an assault is critical if you wish to preserve physical evidence or receive medications to prevent contracting infections.
