Professor Laura Gawlinski spent her first summer digging up artifacts at the Athenian Agora in Greece nearly 20 years ago. Now, she’s giving her students at Loyola a chance to do the same.

The Department mourns the loss of our emeritus colleague, Fr. Matthew E. Creighton, S.J. He died Friday, 23 November 2018, at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan.

Dr. Gregory Dobrov: In Memoriam
The Department of Classical Studies, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Loyola community mourn the loss of Associate Professor Dr. Gregory Dobrov. Dr. Dobrov passed away in September 2015 after a valiant fight against cancer. His students and his colleagues remember him as a passionate teacher and a brilliant scholar.

Joe Goodkin's *Odyssey*, an original composition for guitar that captures the spirit of Homer's epic poem, was performed Monday April 13 in Galvin Auditorium in the Sullivan Center.
