Major Minor of the Month - Justyna Skowronski

Justyna Skowronski '20
English and Journalism major

Why did you choose to become a CS Minor: I chose to become a CS Minor because I wanted to not only enrich my learning experience at a Jesuit university by learning more about the Catholic faith in an intellectual sense, but to also be a part of a greater community and family at Loyola. After commuting my sophomore year, I was yearning for more connection with people and I found my home in the Catholic Studies community.

What is a fond memory you’ve had as a CS minor: I'm stuck between two. One would definitely have to be my time abroad in Oxford, University with the CS Minor offered summer study abroad course Hobbits to Hogwarts. No matter what your major is...take it if you have a chance during your time at Loyola! The other was a Chili Night one of our alums Emily Kate Marticello hosted with past and present CS minors. We talked about the sex abuse scandal and our response as the youth of the Catholic Church prior to the Synod on Youth. There's nothing like a great meal and conversation with close friends in such a wonderful community.

What is your favorite movie quote? “The moment of impact. The moment of impact proves potential for change. Has ripples effects far beyond what we can predict. Sending some particles crashing together. Making them closer than before. While sending others spinning off into great ventures. Landing them where you've never thought you've found them. That's the thing about moments like these. You can't, no matter how hard you try, controlling how it's gonna affect you. You just gotta let the colliding part goes where they may. And wait. For the next collision.” ― The Vow
