Internships
Both BS and MS students can gain hands-on experience in bioinformatics within a professional setting through an internship. Located in the heart of Chicago, there are numerous internship opportunities available for students across the city including research institutions, hospitals, biotech companies, and government agencies and labs. In addition to the internship mentor(s) at the institute/company, Bioinformatics majors engaged in an internship have a LUC faculty advisor; this advisor is both a liaison between the university and the institute/company and a resource for the student during his/her experience.
