Tony Rivera

Senior Associate Director of HR, University of Chicago, Booth School of Business

Tony received his Bachelors in Liberal Arts and his MBA from Purdue University. He has a total of 15 years of human resources experience, initially interning with the Chicago headquartered engineering firm, Greeley and Hansen. He further evolved his career in HR with Hartgrove Hospital, a 160 bed-psychiatric hospital that primarily serves children and adolescents in Chicago, having worked there as the Director of HR for six of the seven years spent there. Hartgrove is owned by Universal Health Services (UHS), one of the largest providers of hospital and healthcare services in the nation. His oversight also extended to the opening and HR management of Garfield Park Hospital, the newly renovated and established sister-facility located on the west-side of Chicago. Since 2015, he has worked as the Senior Associate Director of HR for the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business responsible for 600 staff over 4 campuses including Hong Kong and London. For the last 2 years, he has functioned as the leader of the staff Diversity and Inclusion Committee consisting of 9 core members and approximately 25 staff volunteers.  As a bi-racial (Mexican/Polish), Hispanic identifying individual who has spent his entire life within the Chicago area, he is excited to build his knowledge base and DEI community network with the Loyola Leading for DEI cohort!
