Admission Requirements
Arrupe College seeks highly motivated students who have performed to the best of their ability in high school and who possess the drive and determination necessary to succeed in an intensive academic program.
A strong candidate for admission to Arrupe College will:
- Enter college directly after high school
- Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (Prospective pre-nursing students must have a GPA of at least 3.0)
- Demonstrate financial need
We recommend that Arrupe College applicants complete the following courses as part of their high school curriculum for the best chance of admission consideration:
- English courses: Four years
- Mathematics courses: Three years
- Science courses: Three years
- Social science courses: Three years
- Foreign language courses: Two years
Once students complete the online application, and submit supporting materials Arrupe admissions counselors will review it and send an admission decision to the applicant.
SPIRIT OF ARRUPE SUMMER ORIENTATION PROGRAM
The Spirit of Arrupe
All incoming students to Arrupe College must successfully complete a mandatory summer orientation program in order to begin taking classes in the fall.
Orientation is composed of two parts: An overnight stay at Loyola's Retreat and Ecology Campus (LUREC) in Woodstock, IL and a 3-day on-campus orientation. Please note that attendance to the entire orientation is required, there are no exceptions for family vacations, athletic tournaments, or other summer programming.
LUREC OVERNIGHT STAY
An overnight community building experience will be hosted at Loyola's Retreat and Ecology Campus (LUREC). You will meet at Maguire Hall where we will board busses to LUREC. The experience will involve community building, learning about the Arrupe mission and Student Promise, and become more connected with your fellow students. Students will attend be assigned a group and attend this retreat on the following dates:
- Group 1: August 5th-6th
- Group 2: August 7th-8th
ON-CAMPUS ORIENTATION
You will experience two days at Loyola's Water Tower Campus (home to Arrupe College) to meet you academic advisor, learn about campus resources, and get your campus essentials for the start of the new academic year, including your free laptop. The third day will take place at Loyola's Lake Shore campus to learn about resources such as the Damen Student Center and Information Commons.
The dates for on-campus orientation are:
- August 14th at Water Tower Campus
- August 15th at Water Tower Campus
- August 16th at Lake Shore Campus
