Chicago, IL Wellness Fair, Arrupe College! Arrupe Voices Committee (support DEIB efforts for staff/faculty) Undocumented Student Career Committee (support students navigating employment/professional development opportunities. I was drawn to Arrupe College because of its holistic approach to education. Caring for the whole student (cura personalis) and building a strong community of students, staff and faculty creates a unique environment where we can all grow and thrive. Working in community mental health with young people and families for many years, it became apparent that many high school graduates struggled with their transition to college or employment. When I learned about Arrupe College's mission of providing affordable, accessible higher education to first generation college students, I was excited to become more involved and be part of a movement to meet students where they are and offer innovative educational opportunities. Supporting students as they grow and evolve as students and young adults is incredibly humbling and rewarding. I feel honored to accompany our students on their educational and life journeys. The challenges are the systems beyond Arrupe College that continue to be inequitable and inaccessible for many.Hometown
