Character is Power

April 17 – June 1, 2009

The works in this exhibition were created by second-graders during a lesson on portraiture in which they learned about human proportion and the history of portraits. The students looked at famous artists’ paintings and old photographs, discovering what both the sitters and the artists were communicating. Seen in this exhibition were dreams of what the students want to be when they grow up; through these character studies, students discovered who they are, where they have been, and where they are going.
